Healthy Meals To Eat While Pregnant

Pregnancy is a difficult time in any woman’s life. At this time, a woman needs full support and care. To make the time less painful and be gifted with a healthy baby, she too needs to be aware of a few things. These are vital issues regarding the growth of your baby. The first and foremost thing you need to take care is your food habits and here are certain facts regarding it.

What do I start with?

To remain healthy, you need a balanced diet. To keep another person in you healthy you need a nutritious diet. For a daily routine, a pregnant woman should look forward to consuming the following:

  • 11 servings of grain
  • 3-4 servings of meat and beans
  • 3-4 servings of vegetables
  • 2-3 servings of fruits
  • 4-5 servings of dairy products

These might at first seem hard to maintain but most of them are already maintained in the food you eat. It is a good idea to maintain three different food groups in one course to keep it simple.
You can start off with your breakfast being fruit, grains and milk and then move onto vegetables, meat and plenty of water in your lunch. A proper nutritious diet at this stage should contain protein, folate, iron and vitamin C. It might be hard to keep looking for nutrients, so the best way is to mix fruits and vegetables of different colours.

What is the limit?

Well, in the first trimester you might not need to worry about that since you will not be hungry quite often. However, later you might want to keep it within 300 additional calories a day than what you are eating now. That is not very hard; as a matter of fact it is way too easy. A simple ham burger contains 280 calories itself!

How much do I eat?

In the first trimester you might not be able to eat much so it is a better idea to take a small amount of the bland food at a time. Instead of taking 3 main courses divide it into 6 small snack-packs. When you get bored and choose to eat fried food, make sure they are done so in unsaturated oil. Stick to fluids like water, milk and juice since they will keep your skin clear. Don’t push yourself, since you need to make space in your stomach for the special one!
