Acupuncture Face Treatments

Somethings just seem like a bad idea, like showering with a hair dryer or playing in traffic. Sticking needles into your face might seem to be one of those things but that would be far from the case. As it turns out, having acupuncture face treatments can have some surprising results. Once the Hollywood celebrities started talking about it almost every spa in Los Angeles started to offer “Acupuncture face-lifts”.

Why it is not a face-lift

The term “acupuncture face-lift” is a unfortunate misnomer. So much so, in fact, that most reputable cosmetic acupuncturist don't use the term and actively discourage it. Face-lift implies surgery or similar medical quick fixes to combat aging of the skin and muscles. This is not at all what happens with acupuncture face treatments. On the first day of treatment (it is done as a series) you will walk out looking basically looking the same as you walked in. This, however, is just the start. The long term results are much different and can do some things that cosmetic surgery just cannot do.

How it works

Acupuncture has its roots going back over 5,00 years into Chinese medicinal history. Acupuncture tries to balance the flow of energy through the body. That flow is the Chi (Qi) and it becoming unbalanced is what results in ailments. Re-balance the Qi and the ailment will go away.

Acupuncture is only one part of traditional Chinese medicine. Much of the rest of it lies in the use of herbs. Many times these get used in conjunction. Acupuncture face treatments are one place they do and one reason you want it done by someone certified in cosmetic acupuncture. They will be more likely to use this two pronged approach.

The acupuncture face treatment itself (the needles part) is what helps the muscles of the face re-tone and helps reduce wrinkles. It also helps with sleep and that reduces bags under the eyes. Meanwhile, the herbs are working their own magic. They can be used to treat skin conditions as well as help give it a healthy glow. That same cleansing it does also helps to add sparkle back to the eyes and no amount of surgery can do that.

Acupuncture face treatment can not work miracles overnight. Over time however you can see some remarkable results. The key to your success will be to find a certified cosmetic acupuncturist who also uses herbal treatments.
