| Healthy Meals For StudentsStudent life can be really stressful. You have to do a lot and the days only seem to get shorter during the exams. Fitting in three main courses seems like taking 3 long breaks and so most students prefer fast foods or packed foods. These are usually rich in trans-fats and are not a very healthy substitute. Here is a small review of what you can do to stay healthy and stay on time! Breakfast, the most important meal of the dayBreakfast can seem real cumbersome for many students since some tend to sleep past that time while others are in a run for their lives. However, there is a solution to that too. You can have a quick cereal which is rich in protein and the milk will supply you with enough calcium. Nature is the best providers and fruits are packed containers of energy that do not require refrigeration. You can carry an apple, or have a banana, or peel through an orange while on the run. Energy bars, juice or yoghurt can be a good supply of energy and protein. Lunchtime This tends to be a very short window for you to get the right food items. Some may not make it to the dorm, you may have forgotten your wallet or you are just too lazy and tired to cook for yourself. The best thing to do will be to have a packed meal. If you forgot to do so, then fast food is your last resort. While you are at it, try to skip the fats and keep the calories small. If you order a burger ask them to remove the cheese and add more tomatoes. For pizzas, well you can try the vege-pizzas or you can just ask to trim off the cheese and add more fruits and vegetables as toppings. If you have access to buffet, then do not jump in. Take a soup and then go for the salad with low-fat dressing. By then you will have eaten up your desire for fat-filled meat. Getting ready for tomorrowDinner is the time when you actually find time to eat, so do not overeat. This is also the time when you tend to work the least and so avoid fat build up. Try to follow your lunch routine or just have another small ‘breakfast’ before going to bed. |
