Home Remedies For Removing Nits

If you’re not familiar with the term nit, you may not even know what they are. Nits are another name for lice eggs. They are very small and turn into tiny pests that attack your hair and body.

To remove these tiny, pestering bugs, there are a number of things that you can do. With these types of pests, you may want to try one or two remedies at one time. This is a great idea to get rid of them once and for all. It is also a great way to make sure that you get rid of them all at one time.

Many people decide to buy bombs to eliminate the entire problem all together. These bombs are available in some pet stores and most grocery stores. In order to get through this process, plan to be out of your home for at least two days after you set this bomb. You will have to cover the furniture and other materials and belongings so they won’t be affected by the chemicals and odors.

In order to bomb an entire home, you will have to purchase a bomb for each room. Each bomb will have to be set off and the doors to each room should be closed. If not, the purpose for bombing will not be served because the critters are not contained and will be able to run from room to room.

Another remedy you can try is the 30 minute hot cycle and washing your bedding. With the 30 minute hot cycle, you will wash any clothing that your child has come into contact with that was one week before you discovered nits in your home. Other clothing garments may include coats, hats, and scarves.

As far as washing your bedding, you will need to wash everything on your bed. This includes pillows and pillowcases, blankets, sheets, mattress cover, and the comforter. You should wash everything in hot water and dry them on the highest dryer settings that your dryer has.

Plastic bags are also another option that you have. For every item that cannot be washed in hot water, it will need to go into a plastic bag. You will need to do this because leaving such things as towels and clothing can cause an infestation of these little bugs.

A vacuum will also come in handy here. You’ll use a vacuum to remove these pests form your mattress and other furniture and household items such as, rugs, couches, car floor mats, and chairs. Once you have vacuumed everything very well, throw the vacuum bag out immediately. Taking a day or two to totally clean house from top to bottom is a good idea. By doing this, you will be able to clean and get rid of everything that they love. If you’re not getting rid of any clothes any time soon, you can protect them in plastic. A clean house is where no pests want to be because they have nothing to keep them going. If there is no food or other things that they like and need, they will feel no need to occupy your home.
