How To Clean With Home Remedy Disinfectants

Commercial remedies can be used as a disinfectant. However, they often are very costly and they have toxic ingredients in them. You have to be careful about using these as they are harmful to the environment.

Homemade disinfectants can be used to sanitize your home. They can also be used to protect yourself as well as the environment as you save money.

Recipe 1

1. Mix 1 cups of hot water, 1 tsp. sodium lauryl sulfate, 1 tsp. Borax powder, 2 tbsp. white vinegar, and ¼ tsp. eucalyptus oil. This should be combined with ¼ tsp. of lavender essential oil and three drops of tea tree oil, and it should be stirred in a medium bowl.
2. Stir the above mixture with the spoon until the dry ingredients have dissolved into the wet ingredients completely. Then, take a funnel to transfer this mixture to a clean, empty spray bottle and then secure the lid tightly.
3. Spray the mixture onto any non-glass surface. Then, scrub with a cleaning rag and rinse with a damp cloth.

Recipe 2

1. Pour 2 ½ cups of water into a medium saucepan. Then add a handful of dried or fresh thyme and bring this water and spice mixture to a boil.
2. Cover the pot and let this mixture simmer on medium-low heat for 3 to 5 hours. This substance should cool for awhile and then you should strain it through a colander into a clean bowl.
3. This herb water should then be placed in a clean 32 oz. spray bottle. You should then top the bottle off with white vinegar and add a squirt of Liquid Castle Soap.
4. This mixture can be sprayed on surfaces that need to be disinfected, such as kitchen counters. It also can be sprayed on fabric and upholstery and it also will air dry without rinsing.

Recipe 3

1. The first step for this recipe would be to combine 2 tsp. of Borax powder and 4 tbsp. of white vinegar. This solution also calls for 3 cups of hot water and all of this should be mixed in an empty spray bottle. You should close the lightly and shake the bottle until it is mixed well.
2. Spray this mixture onto a damp rag. Then wipe the kitchen and bathroom countertops as well as the tile floors, appliances, toilets, bathtubs, and walls.
3. Let this surface air-dry without rinsing it off. If there is any residue left over from the cleaning solution you should buff the surface with a dry rag.
